HAVE YOU GOT PROTECTION?????? FROM LURKING WEREWOLVES THAT IS!!!!!

There are many hairy guys out there (even I have extra!) in the world. Most of them are completely harmless, sort of. However, every now and then, a werewolf might be on the prowl and these are the type of creatures you don't want to take home to mom and dad. Man or woman, a werewolf will likely try to rip you up! You need to know what to do to protect yourself from the hairy beasties. And I do not mean your big bro.

How to tell if the person you're with is a werewolf

Just because a man is hairy does not mean he's a werewolf. There are a number of things to look for to help you find if the man stalking you is a werewolf or not. According to Warren Zevon song, The Werewolves of London, a werewolf likes Chinese food, especially the beef lo mein. They also love pina colada's (and getting caught in the rain). The biggest trait that will stand out the most, is that a werewolf has perfect hair (especially for the ladies!!!). They tend to mutilate little old ladies, too. (probably for their social security checks, because a good lookin' werewolf doesn't want to hold a job and work the graveyard shift because that's when all the action happens!)
So if you're old and some hairy guy with a perfect mullet flirts with you and offers you some of his Chinese take-out on the bus, don't get off with him, tell him this isn't your stop and just keep on riding the bus. (wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, etc!!!)

Change the werewolf back to a man

It is often said that you can't change the man only his clothes. (only to clean ones mind you!) However, if the man is trying to rip you open, its not going to hurt to try. Physical abuse is rampant and every woman or man should carry one important thing with them (I'm not talking about what's found in every mans wallet either) to always feels safe: Wolfsbane.
Wolfsbane is a highly poisonous plant that will automatically change a werewolf back to his normal form. However, the downside to wolfsbane is that it is very dangerous to grow. The plant itself will cause rashes when touched, and if the sap gets into a cut, you are in trouble. Swallowing just one small piece of it will kill you. But, despite that, if you plant some outside your house you will not have to worry about a werewolf (or cats) stopping by to try and take a bite out of you.
Remember, that even if you change the werewolf back to his normal form ( like a plumber, electrician or one of the guys from the computer geek squad) that does not mean he will stay that way. When the next full moon comes up he'll be back at your door as a werewolf again (those no soliciting signs won't work either).

Time to get out grandma's good silver

Sometimes it takes real extreme measures to protect yourself and your loved ones. When a werewolf just will not stop and you're in fear for your life, then it's time to pull out the good silverware.
Silver will kill a werewolf. A silver bullet will put him out for the count if it hits him in the right spot. Sometimes it pays off to wear the tons of jewelry you got from your last trip to Mexico. Self-defense makes it perfectly legal for you to take him down! So keep that in mind when a werewolf attacks and you don't have any wolfsbane, because you forgot to water it.

Avoid the werewolf altogether

If you remember to water and take care of the wolfsbane outside the front door, then you will probably not have to worry about a werewolf showing up with take-out and a comb. Also, don't go outside during a full moon. ( unless you're going ice skating or out making snow angels in the snow). Stay at home and put in the movie you got from Netflicks, or throw a party and invite the people from the Chinese take-out restaurant over to play charades. When you go out clubbin, avoid hairy men ( especially the ones with the gold chains and rings). Carry one of grandmas silver butter knives in your purse just in case to. AAAAHHHOOO!!! WEREWOLVES OF LONDON!!!AAAAHHHOOOO!!!!!

THE PATUM OF BERGA FROM CATALONIA SPAIN!

The Patum of Berga is the famous firecracker party celebrated at Berga. It is a traditional celebration performed during the Corpus Christi and it has been declared by Catalonia government as traditional party of national interest in 1983 and after by UNESCO as oral and immaterial patrimony of the humanity in 2005.
This celebration consists of diverse representations of mystical and symbolic figures which dance according to the rhythm of the music and drums and it is mainly characterized by the utilization of fire and pyrotechnics.
The Wednesday before the Thursday of Corpus, the tabal and the giants cross the city announcing the beginning of the parties. Later, the mimic drama begins which is divided in several acts and it represents: the intense fights of the Christians against the Moors archangel San Miguel, with the help of angels, fights against Lucifer and his devils the jeers against the Arabic commander Abul-Afer (known also as Bullafer), conqueror of the area.

The act of the aliga expresses the satisfaction of Berga for having finished with the feudal domain and to depend directly and exclusively of the King.
The parties take place from the Thursday of Corpus until the following Sunday. The following day of the proper Corpus, an infantile Patum is celebrated – it is a version adapted for children.
Following the different groups/persons who compose this celebration.
The tabal (spokesman) is the one who announces the next parties. He does it, for the first time, on Sunday of the Ascension and for the second time, on Sunday of the Trinidad. The vigil of the Corpus peals again at midday but this time with the giants. It is said that his sound gives the name to the Patum. According to the tradition, the tabal has the power to clear the sky and that his sound can reach any Berga citizen who is outside of the town, no matter the distance, to announce the day of the Ascension.

The turks and cvallets (knights) are represented by 4 people dressed in turks with turbans and shining scimitars and other 4 dressed in christian with some little wood horses around their waist. They go in the middle of the place where they form 2 concentric circles to start the battle following the sound of the music expressly composed for this act. The moors chase constantly the knights who flee and always escape from their persecutors. The act reaches its climax when Christians stab the moors.
The maces are the devils that carry a mace finished off with a whip (a kind of long firecracker) who dance in groups of two with San Miguel and the Angel. When the firecracker explodes, the demon falls dead on the soil. The dance finishes when all the devils are defeated and laid down on the soil.

The guites are represented by a monstrous dragon with a long neck. The goal of the guites is to persecute the people meanwhile from his mouth goes out non-stop the fire of the firecrackers. In the past, there was only one but at the end of the 19th century, another one was added named Pequeña (smaller). The aliga (eagle) is considered as the most important of the Patum.
The aliga is undoubtedly the lordliest figure, a symbol of the power which is represented by the ducal wreath and the shield of Berga that he carries. His dance is the most delicate one, with a rapid game of feet, pause and solemnity increasing with the rhythm of the music, to end up by turning on him with great speed.

The nans vells (old dwarfs). The nans vells dance and, in the same time, play castanets following the sound of waltz music. This part was incorporated into the Patum in 1855.
The Gegants (giant) There are two couples of giants, the old and the new one (this one has been added in 1891). They delight the public, especially to the infantile one, with his majestic dance.
The nans nous (new dwarfs). Dated from 1888, they are represented by two couples, the major and the young one. His music is cheerful and with a playful air.

The plens (plenary). The fire is the most representative element in the celebration of the Patum and the plens represent the infernal orgy. They are represented by 100 devils with a mask of green color and dressed with fresh grass to protect them from the fire. This party only acts during the representation of the night.
The tirabol is not a group/person but a dance in which all the groups/persons (tabal, guites and giants) have to participate. This dance is the final act of the Patum in which citizens with the giants and guites, connected by the arm, jump and dance non stop in the opposite sense of the clock during the final apotheosis of the party. When the musicians stop to play, people scream them to keep going on so that they can keep dancing, this part can be repeated in occasions up to 20 times. Since some years, at the end of the tirabol, guites return to dance in order to finish off ultimately the Guita Grossa.

So if you are in Catalonia during the month of June, don’t miss this firecracker and firework tradition celebrated at the Berga town. It is something you have to live before to leave Spain and if you want to know the exact date, check out the calendar of the official website of Berga.

IT'S TIME FOR A HELPING OF CANDY FACTS!!! YYYUUUUMMMMM!!

Candy Corn, Tootsie Rolls, Snickers, and Hershey's Chocolate products are popular with trick or treaters. Other than how good they taste, what else is there to know about these yummy treats? Take a look at some of these fun candy facts.

Candy Corn was invented in the 1880s by George Rennigner.
The oldest company to produce the surgary corn is The Goelitz Company which is now known as the Jelly Belly Company. They have used the same recipe for over 100 years. Can't get enough of this Halloween classic? At the moment, you can buy 10 pound for $81 dollars. Approximately 9 billion pieces of it will be made each year.

Tootsie Rolls were invented in 1896 by Leo Hirshfield. The product is named after Hirschfield's daughter whose nickname was "Tootsie". In 1896 Tootsie Roll cost one cent. In fact, it was the first "individually wrapped penny candy". Over 100 years later, consumers can still find Tootsie Rolls for a penny. The Tootsie Company makes 64 million Tootsie Rolls a day.

A fun online Chicago Tribune article suggested that if your favorite Halloween treat is Snickers, it means you probably have an indecisive personality. "Do you want chocolate? Do you want nuts? You don't know. Or do you?" Snickers is the most popular chocolate bar in the entire world. Snickers got its name from a horse. There are around sixteen peanuts in each Snickers bar. They are made by The Mars Company.

Hershey's produces around 30 different chocolate products that can be given out to trick or treaters on Halloween. Most people probably know that Hershey's Chocolates are made in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The town got its name from the chocolate and its inventor Milton Hershey. But did you know that before it was named Hershey, the town was known as Derry Church? Here is a link to The Hershey Company.
Think chocolate is boring? Archie Mcphee sells fun Halloween themed products such as gummy maggots, brain flavored zombie mints, and voodoo pop.
According to AOL, the average American household spends $45 dollars on Halloween food and candy. Candied apples are a popular Halloween treat, but their origin remains unknown. Dan Walker is sometimes credited with the invention of the caramel apple, but others believe he was only involved in marketing caramel apples while working at Kraft Foods in the 1950s.
