Grinch Pills --Free Scut File

Here is one of my favorite projects I've done so far! I just love these! I am dying to make more! I designed the little tic tac holder in my SCAL program and saved it as a scut file. You can download it below. I've made it very easy for you! I've even included the design that I put on the front!

HIS & HERS 2012
It all begins with a classic story: Boy meets girl. A romance is sparked. They share a kiss at midnight on Paris's Pont des Arts. But fate intervenes, and they are separated. Each night, they send wishes—he upon a star, she upon a kite—that, one day, they will reunite.

This tale of love found and lost inspired the "Poetic Wish" watches from Van Cleef & Arpels. Mini works of art on the outside and exemplary displays of technical watchmaking behind the dial, these masterpieces are in need of their own happily ever after.

The lucky buyer will also receive two business-class tickets to Paris and Geneva to tour the Van Cleef & Arpels boutique, atelier, and watchmaking workshops.

The details:
  • The "Poetic Wish" watches are a marvel of technology and craft. The movement alone took three years of development and a highly skilled team of 5 engineers and watchmakers.
  • Each watch features an innovative Five Minute repeater movement, three integrated automatons (a person's silhouette, a mother-of-pearl cloud, and either a diamond shooting star or an enamel kite), and a handcrafted enamel dial executed with marquetry, stone setting, and gold sculpting—each depicting a Parisian landmark: his, the Notre Dame; hers, the Eiffel Tower.
  • Dial scenes become animated on demand, and the love story is brought to life both visually and audibly. On the lady's, the woman's silhouette indicates the hour by moving slowly across the observation deck of the Eiffel Tower, and a lucky kite indicates the minutes as it ascends in the sky. As these characters are in motion the sound of the Notre Dame bells chime: one sound for the hours and another sound for each five-minute interval. Similarly, on the men's dial, a young man on the Notre Dame moves across the terrace to indicate the hours, and a diamond star shoots up in the sky to indicate the minutes. The sound of the Notre Dame bells unites the two lovers.
  • Time may also be read on the backside. A transparent crystal case reveals the innovative movement of this Five Minute repeater, hammers, bells, and two display dials: one for the hours and minutes; the other for the seconds.
  • An engraving that reads "Reve A Paris, Fait A Geneve" (Dreamed of in Paris, made in Geneva) can be read through the sapphire crystal back. This reveals VCA's unique creative process and development of this poetic masterpiece between Paris, the magical city of love and romance that is home to Van Cleef & Arpels, and Geneva, the heart of high-end watchmaking.
  • Each watch arrives in a handmade mother-of-pearl inlaid wood cabinet. The marquetry cabinets depict the Parisian scenes that corresponds to the watches: the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. When the two cabinets are positioned side by side they reveal the landscape of the love story.
  • Watch cases are 18-karat white gold and set with diamonds of D, E, or F color and VVS clarity.
  • Straps are a pearl gray moiré silk for her and navy alligator for him.
  • The package includes a trip to Paris for a weekend, where you'll visit the Van Cleef & Arpels boutique and jewelry atelier. And a trip to Geneva for a day of private tours of the Van Cleef & Arpels watchmaking workshops and a meeting with the designers and watchmakers.
  • While in Paris and Geneva, Van Cleef & Arpels will arrange luxury accommodations, remarkable dining experiences, and entertainment to suit your preferences.
  • Date of trip is subject to availability and confirmation from Van Cleef & Arpels.

Neiman Marcus will donate $10,000 for each His & Hers 2012 gift sold to The Norman Mailer Center, which supports writers who challenge readers' perspectives on the world around them.

A stoic owl gazes impassively from a screen. Instead of a forest backdrop, the creature is juxtaposed against mod dots. A soundtrack by Carl Maria von Weber loops mysteriously in the background. Suddenly, the bird blinks! Then his head swivels! Exactly who is watching whom?

That is one question acclaimed artist Robert Wilson wants viewers to ask. In his Video Portraits series, he features animals and people who appear static, as if portrayed within a painting. But the viewer is caught off guard when the subject unexpectedly breathes, blinks, or shifts. This modern riff on the eighteenth-century tableaux vivant beautifully pushes the boundaries between reality and imagination.

The details:
  • The limited-edition 42"H x 24"W artist's proof is hand-numbered and -signed and available in 20 different color combinations.
  • All costs of packing, crating, shipping, and installation will be the responsibility of the purchaser. RW Work Ltd. will be the direct liaison with the purchaser or their representative and any third parties in facilitating and advising the crating, shipping, and installation.

  1. Combine sugar, pumpkin, milk and spices in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat and then reduce it to a gentle simmer.
  2. Cook until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat. Add the walnuts, butter and vanilla. Beat until the mixture is creamy. Pour into a buttered baking dish and chill for a couple hours until set. Cut into 1-inch squares.

Butter pecan fudge

A little nutty and a lot rich, you'll really enjoy a batch of butter pecan fudge. It's like taking a delightful bite out of a treat from the past!
Yields about 24 pieces

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted

  1. In a saucepan, mix together the butter, sugar, brown sugar, whipping cream and salt, and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  2. Allow the mixture to boil for about five minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and powdered sugar and mix well.
  3. Fold in the pecans. Pour mixture into a waxed paper-lined 8 x 8-inch baking dish.
  4. Refrigerate until the fudge becomes firm; then cut into 1-inch squares.

Eggnog fudge

This recipe uses prepared eggnog from the store to help make fudge-making matters even easier. This is a true holiday treat that is rich and memorable.
Yields about 24 pieces

  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • 1 cup prepared eggnog
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 cup butter, chilled
  • 1/2 (11 ounce) package white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped almonds

  1. Line a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and set aside. Spray the bottom and sides with cooking spray while heating prepared eggnog and sugar over medium heat. Bring to a rolling boil, stirring consistently with a wooden spoon. Boil for about two minutes.
  2. Fold in the marshmallows, cinnamon and nutmeg. Return to a boil for about five to six minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. As the mixture boils, it will become brown. Remove from the heat and quickly stir in the butter, white chocolate chips and almonds. Stir well until mixed and glossy.
  4. Quickly pour the mixture into a prepared pan. Cool at room temperature before removing from the pan and cutting into 1-inch squares.

Marbled fudge

The best of both worlds! Marbled fudge combines chocolate with marshmallow for a fluffy, rich, double-delicious treat.

  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Dash salt
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped

  3. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the marshmallows with the remaining two tablespoons of butter. Spoon over fudge. With a knife or spatula, swirl it through the fudge.
  4. Refrigerate for about two hours or until firm. Remove from pan and peel off the foil. Cut into 1-inch squares.

Pottery Barn Inspired Noel Tutorial

The blogosphere is loaded with Pottery Barn inspired goodies this season, especially their Noel letter sign. And with each blog viewing, I thought to myself, "Hey, I can do that!". So the search began for ginormous letters to mount on my wall. Huge letters, I found, were more than I wanted to spend so I found some nice sized 9" MDF letters at Michaels.

One of the things I love about these letters is the rich look of depth to the letters. To create your own faux, weathered-wood look, you'll need some acrylic paints in Raw Umber and Crimson, or whatever colors you like.

Paint the letters first with the Raw Umber and while they are still tacky and not yet dry....

...go over them with the Crimson. Blend, add some paint, take away, smudge with a paper towel, and have fun until it looks something like....

...THIS! See all that beautiful depth and faux-woody goodness? That's what you're going for here. If you keep messing with it while it's wet and still drying, you'll get this rich gorgeous look.

When your letters are completely dry, arrange them how you want on a piece of cardboard. Place another piece of cardboard on the front of the letters and flip 'em over like a cake. Now you are ready to glue your letters in place.

Take your glue gun and fill all the gaps of your letters with hot glue. Never underestimate the power of your hot glue ladies! Goop it on...and it will hold.

When your glue is set, simply place a few strategic nails on your wall and voila! Cute sign that cost you the price of your letters and a bit of your time.

Add some poinsettias, a candle, and you have yourself some gorgeousness!
