Banana Cream Pie Cupcakes give you the taste of pie in a fun cupcake.
Recently, I tried new Betty Crocker® FUN da-Middles™ cupcake mix. The concept is great. The cupcakes bake up with a fun filling inside, so there is no need to frost them. I enjoy them plain but thought it would be fun to jazz them up and create a gourmet-type cupcake.
I love the taste of banana cream pie. So when I saw the vanilla FUN da-Middles™, I thought they would make the best base for a Banana Cream Pie Cupcake concoction.
If you’re like me, you will love these delicious cupcakes. They are so easy to make and don’t require many extra ingredients to turn out amazing treats.
I started by stirring in some instant banana pudding mix into the filling. Before I added the mix to the cupcake liners, I put a vanilla cookie in the bottom of each cup. Then I followed the directions on the box for adding the cream and topping with more batter. It’s super easy and fun to do!
Once they bake up, the filling is hidden in the middle. I was thinking they would be great like this to pack in a lunch or to bring on a picnic. However, once they were cooled, I couldn’t help but pile on some banana cream cheese frosting, graham cracker crumbs and a cookie garnish.
The cupcake batter comes in three different flavors…I can’t wait to try them all! With this mix, the possibilities for some very fun cupcakes are endless!
