HOW TO MAKE CHALKBOARD PAINT BY YOURSELF!

This diy comes from www.shelterness.com .  Another little one you can make at home instead of spending a lot of money buying the real thing. If you’re into home decor then you probably know, that chalkboard paint is quite expensive and usually comes only in black and green colors. Although that isn’t the problem anymore. You can make such paint by yourself. You just need some Non-Sanded Tile Grout and latex paint of any color you want. If you mix a cup of this paint and two tablespoons of tile grout you’ll get a perfect chalkboard paint you can apply right away. Isn’t that cool? There are so many DIY projects you can do with it.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH TRUFFLES!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles Oh. My. God. If you could take perfection, roll it in a ball, and dip it chocolate, this would be it. I’m not joking here folks. I’d strongly advise you to put down the mouse and get your butt to the kitchen, stat. Even Taylor firmly declared these the best thing I’ve ever baked. Even though there was technically no baking involved, I’m still taking that as a hint that I did good. I did real good. And we’ve been enjoying the product of that goodness all week long. My apologies to the New Years’ resolution folk. I tried to hold off until at least February to post these, but I just couldn’t do it. Call it a little treat to yourself for doing so well up until this point. While one of these little guys won’t hurt, good luck practicing self-restraint when faced with a cookie sheet full of them. It’s not easy. What is easy is whipping them up. Which I encourage you to go do. Immediately. The cookie dough its...

OLD FASHIONED BUTTER MINTS (JUST LIKE GRANDMA AND GRANDPA USED TO HAVE)!!

This old favorite from our childhood comes from www.loveveggiesandyoga.com .  How many of you when you were growing up, used to take a couple of these out of Grandmas candy dishes.   They were just the right size mint for any child.  Enjoy! One of the highlights of going to my grandma’s house when I was growing up, in addition to playing Gin Rummy for money at age six, was raiding her candy dish. She used to have Jolly Ranchers, butterscotch candies, and after dinner mints in that little white dish with the lid. When you’re six,”after dinner” means the minute you can get your sweaty little mitts on the mints, you do. I decided it was time to make my own meltaway mints since I have such fond memories of them. Skylar told me the pink mints taste better. But of course. In actuality, same batter but that concept wasn’t fully registering. All that was registering was pink food. They are so smooth and just melt in your mouth. I wanted to ...

DIY PEA AND MOSS BALL DECORATIONS!

Creating a spring or summer décor is simple – just use something green – plants, flowers or create pieces like these for decoration – pea and moss balls. The supplies are: Mod Podge in matte, green acrylic paint, one package of six smooth foam balls, a bag of green moss, and a bag of dried split peas. First paint the balls with acrylic paint and let dry. Paint Mod Podge and press the pieces of moss or the peas to the ball. When gluing moss, do it half by half, when gluing peas, take smaller sections and wait for 5 minutes to let the peas grip. Now you can arrange these balls into some bowls or baskets and decorate any place with this light summer touch.

ORANGE PUSH UP SMOOTHIE!

I thought I would throw a little bit of a curve ball your way and post a nice smoothie recipe (I love smoothies, of the non alcohol variety.  This recipe comes from www.loveveggiesandyoga.com .  Enjoy this nice refreshing drink  for breakfast or lunch.  Enjoy yourself! When I was growing up, one of my favorite things to do was ride my bike with my friends to the local gas station’s mini-mart and reach into their freezer case and pull out an Orange Push-Up . I loved Push-Ups and seeing those brightly colored dots meant that creamy orange goodness was soon going to be mine. I love it when Push-Ups begin to melt because they taste even sweeter, creamier, and better. The same was true with this smoothie. As it began to melt, it got even better. This smoothie is a dead ringer for Orange Push-Ups. Don’t skimp on the sugar if you want it to taste exactly like an Orange Push-Up and I promise, it does. Sweet oranges ‘n c...
